I am looking for the artist and name of a painting, old woman sitting in a chair holding a coffee grinder?
color of painting are earth tones. My mother got a print of it years ago. She cut the poster to fit a frame and always regreted cutting it. I would like to get her a new copy and have it framed.
I do not have a picture of it. My parents are in another city and are not technically proficent enough to take one and e-mail to me.
The painting you are looking for is by Van Gogh (1881): Woman grinding coffee in Kroller Mueller Museum in Amsterdam see pic at http://www.vggallery.com/watercolours/p_0889.htm The problem is that the online shop at this museum is not open. And, it is most probably they don't stock this particularly watercolor painting as a print.
But there is someone wanting to sell a copy of this pic. and it might be worth you corresponding with her. Go down to Catherine Archibald - athttp://www.askart.com/AskART/artists/bulletin.aspx?searchtype=DISCUSS&artist=9000109. Don't offer more than 15-20 dollars, because if you look up VGogh prints on ebay they are selling for less, See http://art.search.ebay.com/van-gogh_Art_W0QQsacatZ550

Making Great Tasting Coffee With Your Coffee Grinder
The process of making coffee with a grinder may be one of the most simple coffee making processes and can provide one of the most flavorful cups of coffee that you've ever experienced. This is due to a number of different factors including the fact that coffee beans provide maximum freshness, there are no stale old coffee grounds going into your cup of coffee.
The coffee bean is where the flavor originates and because there is no altering of the bean until you actually grind it with your grinder, there is no loss of flavor whatsoever. This means that you are getting the most possible freshness when you put the grounds created from the grinding process into your coffee. The flavor is essentially locked into the bean which is harvested directly from the plant, so there is no loss occurring the process of harvesting the beans. At the moment when you grind the beans is when you achieve the maximum amount of freshness.
The other factor that is attributed to the most flavorful cup of coffee provide by fresh coffee grounds is the fact that the grounds you are using have not been sitting on a shelf for a long period of time. It is true that coffee bean may sit on a shelf in a grocery store just like pre ground coffee, but the fact that the bean is left whole keeps the freshness of the grounds locked inside until you release it with the grinding process. This is not the case with pre ground coffee which can become stale and lose flavor if the shelf life gets extended too long.
The fact of the matter is that you can enjoy a much fresher cup of coffee if you grind your own beans, and if you want to grind your own beans the traditional way, then you may want to consider purchasing an antique coffee grinder. If you'd rather not purchase an antique coffee grinder, that's OK, you can purchase a newer model and still enjoy the rich freshness that grinding can provide you.
